The project is the conversion of a greenfield space to develop a new apartment block with a mixed tenure of social and private sale apartments, to include a new amenity garden for residents of the new block and the existing apartment block. The build is a piled foundation with a concrete frame structure, masonry façade and flat roof. The build includes amenity spaces and a passenger lift. Two of the apartments are compliant with part M4 (3) fully accessible, with the remainder being compliant with part M4 (2).
The original site was an overgrown plot of land behind an existing block of apartments and next door to a junior school. The site had contamination that required remediation before work. Logistics to the site were limited due to the proximity of adjacent buildings. The site had an underground lead from an adjacent building that had to be overcome during the build. Community liaise was made with monthly newsletters.
